What is Digital Dawg Byte?

Digital Dawg Byte High School Technology Compeition is an anuual competition hosted by the Department of Instructional Systems and Workforce Development of Mississippi State University. The competition is a one-day event that seeks to challenge students by fostering a healthy competitive environment in which high school students will compete with other students from across the state of Mississippi. Students are challenged to put their knowledge and skills to the test by competing in three competitions: Kahoot-It, App-It and Snap-It.


Kahoot-It

Students will engage in a quiz bowl competition consisting of multiple rounds of elimination. A variety of questions ranging from technology, business, education and others will be covered.

App-It

Students are challenged to create an App and present it before their peers. Apps will be evaluated in a healthy competitive atmosphere that promotes learning.

Snap-It

Students will develop a 30-second creative video of their experience while at Mississippi State University and share their masterpiece on Twitter.

Who can participate?

The Department of Instructional Systems and Workforce Development hosts the Digital Dawg Byte High School Technology Competition yearly and encourages educators to bring their students to compete in the competition. Educators in the state of Mississippi are welcome to bring their students. In order to gain the full experience, educators should have their students to compete in all three compeitions.
